New Music Video Complete: Ciara Exius

Filed Under (Releases) by danny on 16-08-2009

My friend Wenner wanted to do another music video for someone’s birthday. I hadn’t done any video projects in a while, so I was definitely in. We only had about a week to compose the whole thing so the only set plan I had going in was to shoot on pretty much every camera I own, and make something happen with that. I trusted Wenner and his choreographer would take care of the moves, so all I had to do was capture it and make them look even better.

With the help of my motion graphics friend Jay Purugganan, and my Producer girlfriend Cristina, I was able to shoot edit, and “color correct” the whole thing in about 7 hours. This gave Jay about 3-4 days to add the finishing touches to make it that much more impactful.

Anyway, have a look:

Radiohead – House of Cards – Followup Videos

Looks like there are more and more videos popping up on YouTube for Radioheads “House of Cards” music video. They are using the data from the Google Code to create different styles for the animations. That’s some open-source directing for you. Here are a couple of the ones I found most interesting.

Thom Yorke Hologram. Obviously uses tracking technology (isn’t actually a hologram):

Pitchplant

I’ve been semi addicted to the tunes of Pitchplant lately. It’s that kind of music that gets me thinking when I listen to it. I would say it is sort of Boards of Canada (my favorite) meets IQU.

Oddly enough I found them through a Google Adsense ad. It was literally the first time I have clicked on a banner ad purposefully which is somewhat ironic (?) considering that’s my bread and butter.

You can download their latest album here (legitimately). Barbapapa is probably my favorite song off the album.
